    SEO is a methodology of strategies, techniques and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement is the search results page of a search engine (SERP)- including Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engine.

SEO Process / 7 Step process :

    The following steps are the seo process to optimize the website. This seo process is also called 7 step process because the process goies in only seven steps. They are :

  • Website audit and competitive research(SEMRUSH) ( incase of existing website ).
  • Create a strong website architecture (organisation of content into meaningful groups/ section)- blog, resource pages, product/services page with maximum possible information.
  • Fill each page with rich content ( minimum of 300 words ) ( follow the content development process ).
  • Perform keyword research ( using Google Ads/ SEMRUSH / uber suggest ) and finalize keywords for each page.
  • Optimize each page for all major On- page SEO factors.
  • Perform off- page SEO activites.
  • Monitor the performances ( rankings, competitors, new keyword opportunites with tools like semrush ).

    Website audit is a full analysis of all the factors that affect  websites’s visibility in search engines. This standard method gives a complete insight into any website, overall traffic and individual pages. Website audit is a process for auditing the website to make your web page rank god on search engine and also to give a good user experience.

Create a Strong Website Architecture :

    Strong website architecture ( categorizing content into relevant groups and maintaining required levels will increase the strength of your website and makes you score more in the competition ).

    Page architecture are of two types :

  • Flat architecture :- 

The architecture without any sub child nodes called Flat architecture. For example, the following picture shows you.

  • Well architecture :- 

            The architecture with parent node, child nodes, sub child nodes and so on etc. For example, the following picture shows you.

Fill Each Page With Rich Content :

  • Make use that each of your pages have at least 300 words of content for pages / 1800 words for blog.
  • Keep relevant, easy to read content which helps the user understand / make a decision.
  • Include images
  • Embed videos.
  • Embed presentations.
  • Check for grammar, plagiarism and readability
  • Add internal and external links.
  • Keep content in conversational tone.

Perform Keyword Research :

  • In this phase, you will research for the keywords which people might be using to find your page.
  • Keywords can be collected by; brainstorming, research on competitor’s website, using tools like SemRush, Adwords keyword research tool, ubersuggest etc.
  • Once we collect a great list of relevant keywords, we need to find the average monthly searches ( from Google Adwords keyword planner ), the total number of pages in Google Index for each of the keyword. Then we calculate the KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) to understand the difficulty level to rank for that keyword.
  • Select the keyword with a) High Relevance b) Better Search Volume and c) Low KEI value. This will be the Focus Keyword for that page. You are going to use it prominently at all the important areas of the page.
  • Repeat the process for all pages.

Include the focus keyword in the URL (Except for Home Page).

    1. 60-65 characters
    2. Include the focus keyword
    3. Keep it in beginning of the sentence
    4. Make it compelling enough to click
    5. Keep it unique
    6. Keep it in title case
    7. Keep the brand name at the end
  2. Meta description :
    1. 170 characters
    2. Include the focus keyword begining of the sentence
    3. Include the other keywords (if promise)
    4. Make it like the summary of the page
    5. Keep it unique
    6. Keep it in sentence case
    7. Keep the brand name at the end
  3. Headlings (H1,H2,H3,H4,H5 and H6) :
    1. H1 – keep the focus keyword
    2. Use title case
    3. H2-H6 – keep other relevant keywords (if possible)
  4. Content :
    1. Include focus keyword and other keywords
    2. Each page should have at least 300 words of content
    3. Keep the keywords prominently for about 2% of words (keep it in bold, italics).
    4. Use synonyms and related words instead of repeating the focus keyword too many times (Humming Bird)
    5. Distribute keywords evenly across the content
  5. Links ( Both External and Internal )
    1. Internal links – provide links to all relevant internal pages
    2. External links – provide links to all external websites

Two different types of links : Do folow and No follow. If a link is specified as no follow ( by specifying rel= nofollow in the anchor tag), users can see that as a link but it will be blinded for the search engines. It means no authority will be followed from current website to the linked website.

6. Images :

  1. Keep the keywords in file name
  2. Keep the keywords in alt tag.

Always use lowercase for filenames and use hyphens (-) to separate the words. Alt tag is like the description of the image.

7. Videos : 

  1. Embed relevant videos from youtube
  2. Provide a short description which contains relevant keywords.
